A golf hitting mat is the floor of every home practice bay, so we build each Champkey mat from the bottom up. The rubber backing is heavy enough to stay flat on concrete, tile or lawn and soft enough to take the sting out of a heavy strike. On top sits 16 mm synthetic grass that brushes like a mown fairway, so the club behaves the way it does on the course instead of bouncing off a carpet.
Pick the Champkey mat by the job. The 13" x 17" Champkey Premium mat is the all-rounder in front of a net or simulator screen, and it is the one Golf Monthly put to the test at home. The dual-turf LITE version and the tri-turf mat add a tee strip and a rough strip, so one mat covers every lie from driver to wedge. Our impact mats keep a trace of every swing on the fabric, and the 16" x 25" alignment mat gives your feet room on the same surface as the ball.
Each pack lists what is inside: most mats ship with a rubber tee holder and a pack of plastic tees, and none of them smell, slide or shed on the hardwood. When the iron play is in order, the same corner of the garage fits a Champkey putting green for the putter, and a set of fresh golf grips and putter grips from our regrip kits finishes the club side of the practice bay.
Yes. Use the rubber tee holder on our turf mats or a rubber tee from our tee range; plastic tees are best pushed into the longer turf strip on the dual- and tri-turf mats.
Our 16 mm turf is made to let the sole glide through. Like any practice surface, it slowly polishes the sole, which is cosmetic and does not change how the club plays.
The 13" x 17" premium turf mat or the 16" x 25" alignment mat. Both sit flat in front of a net and leave space for a ball tray beside you.
